New Paul's Puzzlings. Yep, it's been
way too long since we updated things, I know. Twin toddlers are amazingly
time-consuming...
2/4/2002
New Paul's Puzzlings. I've also updated
the page with a slightly new layout and an archive
of past Puzzlings so it'll load faster now. :)
1/21/2002
Another Paul's Puzzlings. Looks like
Paul has a new year's resolution to write more regularly. We'll see
if it lasts...
1/9/2002
New Paul's Puzzlings, finally. A new
year, and the babies have been learning new things...
12/1/2001
Updated links in Puzzlepals and Paul's
Journal Links; added some new ones to both as well. Check out Alisa's
new family page as well as Beckett's new site!
10/16/2001
Paul's Con Report from
FilkContinental is now online, complete with pictures Paul captured
from his video footage. They had a great time, as you'll read. :)
10/10/2001
Updated some links, such as Seanan McGuire's in the Puzzlepals
area. Paul and Taunya made it home safely despite Swissair going bankrupt
on them, having to shell out for new tickets on Lufthansa and having
some poeple escorted off the airplane in San Francisco by the police
(!). We're glad they're home safely...
9/24/2001
Well, Alisa and Luis aren't going to be able to make it to FilkContinental
after all. :( Paul and Taunya are still going, however, so they'll be
pulling in guest musicians to try to fill in some of the gaps. Alisa
will be sorely missed, but we're betting that everyone FilkContinental
will still have a grand time! Paul has put up several new Puzzlings
as well, for those interested.
8/28/2001
New index page for all the
photo pages. Hopefully it'll make the unweildy structure a bit more
manageable. My fault; I hadn't thought we'd be dealing with so many
photos, and it came back to bite me in the... Ouch!! Also putting up
new photos of the twins and
Hailey, so check it out! Haven't got links to the big photos in yet,
but thumbnails are up. Also a few new Puzzlings
from Paul, who has been surprisingly prolific lately. He's revved up
about Germany.
8/26/2001
New Paul Puzzlings. More to come over
the next few days as well, so check back, y'all.
8/24/2001
New Paul Puzzlings. Baby Sounds and
such. Paul says last Sunday was Puzzlebox's 4th anniversary. Wow, hard
to believe it's been that long...
8/19/2001
Yay! I've managed to fix the Puzzlebox e-mail glitches, so now we should
be able to recieve your attempts at e-mail
without bounce-backs! Added Amanda Snyder's Musings to the Journal
Links page (off of Paul's Puzzlings). Also have done some basic
site maintenance (despite creating more trouble than I solved due to
lack of sleep), it's been long overdue and hopefully invisible, but
should help the site run more cleanly. Paul has also written a new Puzzlings,
along with an entry from Taunya. New pictures of Puzzlebabies coming
soon, really!
7/1/2001
New Puzzling from Paul. Sleep, ah, what
a precious commodity...
6/18/2001
Another Puzzling from Paul. Feel free
to join in on the musing/discussion
about what you wanted to be when you grew up --or you can make that
present tense: What do you want to be when you grow up?
6/10/2001
New Puzzling from Paul. Coming soon:
photos from Baycon (well, of the band and babies, I didn't see much
of the con itself).
6/3/2001
Paul has posted his Baycon report
for those interested. This con marked the debut of 5-week-old Hailey
Grace Garcia, and the meeting of the Casey and Riley with Hailey for
the first time. All babies survived intact. We predict the eventual
musical group debut of: "Hailey and the Kwinn Twins". But
not for awhile yet, so don't hold your breath.
5/18/2001
New photos of the Kwinn Twins
are up in the Photo section.
5/16/2001
We have photos of Hailey Grace
Garcia up in the photo section for any eager viewers! New updated
photos of the twins coming soon as well. Congrats to Alisa and Luis
and their new daughter Hailey!
5/1/2001
New Puzzlings from Paul. Written at
3:30 a.m., so it's bound to be interesting...
4/26/2001
New Puzzlings
by Paul. This appeared originally as Paul's entry in Debbie Ohi's Dandelion
Report, in the Guitar
Xanadu forum with the subject of "The
Day We Met", on how people met their guitars. Fascinating stories,
and quite moving, most of them. I'm sure it's no surprise to anyone
who plays guitar, but the level of emotion and the attachment to their
guitars is really touching. I thought Paul's story of how he met his
guitar was appropriate for his Puzzlings. And check out the Dandelion
Report and all of its very active forums for a very cool on-line
filk community experience. Thanks for all the work, Debbie!
4/17/2001
New Puzzlings by Paul, and I've updated
the links page of other people's journals
that you can access from Paul's Puzzlings.
Congrats to Alisa and Luis on the arrival today of Haley Grace! More
twin photos coming soon.
3/14/2001
Paul has written
a new Puzzlings, as well as his
write-up of events of Consonance. There are also new links to other
people's more comprehensive Consonance experiences included from his
Puzzlings as well as from the Conventions
Index . The photo page for
the twins has been updated with new photos as well, if anyone cares
to take a look.
3/10/2001
Links to various convention reports on Consonance 2001 are up in the
Conventions Index. Check out
what various people had to say about a great con! Paul and new family
as well as Alisa and Luis were in attendance, even if briefly. Paul
had a short concert with help from Alisa, Luis, Kathleen Sloan and the
guests of honor, Urban Tapestry. Looks like the concom once again did
a great job!
2/28/2001
I put Paul's descriptions
of our twin adventures onto his Puzzlings,
for those who might be interested. Life is very busy and sleep deprived
now, but the twins are doing well and both Paul and I are managing despite
severe sleep deprivation... More updates as we grab spare moments.
2/22/2001
Well, the twins were born on 2/12/2001. It's taken awhile for Paul and
I to come up for air, but if you want to see the first photos of the
twins, check out Photos Page
10. We're thrilled with our little guys: Casey Beckett Kwinn, born
at 5 lbs 6 oz, and Riley James Kwinn, born at 6 lbs 13 ozs. They're
both doing very well, and their parents are very sleep deprived but
happy.
2/8/2001
More pages of photos: Page 8
is from OVFF with some photos courtesy of Daniel and Melissa Glasser
again, and Page 9 has new
photos from the baby shower recently thrown for Paul and Beckett for
the twins (expected any time now!). Congrats also to Andrea Dale and
Tom on the arrival of their baby Nicholas!
1/27/2001
New page of photos with accompanying
large versions for your viewing pleasure! These are from OVFF 2000,
and some are courtesy of Daniel and Melissa Glasser, who take more comprehensive
photos of filk events than anyone would have thought possible- thanks
guys!
1/17/2001
Happy New Millenium, everybody! Added a new Paul's
Puzzling. Sorry
for the lack of new stuff lately; life is getting more uncomfortable
and unweildy with the twins getting bigger and more imminent. I'm not
getting regular work done lately, much less fun stuff like this!
12/31/00
Added Tom Jeffers' radio show Prairie Ceilidh to the Puzzlepals
page at long last. Prairie Ceilidh has an amazingly extensive listing
of bands and musicians who have a celtic flavor to their music- a great
resource! Countdown on the real millenium- happy new year to everyone!
12/22/00
Finally, photos from Alisa and
Luis' wedding are up! It only took me 5 months to get around to
it... Happy holidays to everyone- hope next year is filled with happiness
for all of you!!
12/18/00
New Paul's Puzzlings; also fixed some
broken links on the most recent
photo page so that you can actually view the larger size photos!
Madly scrambling to get ready for Christmas...
11/26/00
Made a listing of links to filk cons occurring
in 2001, for those interested. Check out also Steve
Mac's WorlDream project for filk cons and the
song he plans to have filkers record at all of them.
11/22/00
New Paul's Puzzlings up. Have a happy
Thanksgiving, everyone!! And those of you on the East Coast, good luck
with all that snow...
11/19/00
New photo page up in the photos
section- more to come, but check it out! Some are courtesy of Daniel
and Melissa Glasser- thanks, guys!
11/16/00
New Paul's Puzzlings; also added a page
of links to other filk journals that are
fun reads. Any I've missed, let
me know, would you?
11/14/00
Added links at the end of Paul's OVFF
Con Report to some other excellent con reports, including photos
by Daniel and Melissa Glasser. There are rumors of an excellent con
report by Talis Kimberley, the guest of honor, that was posted to the
UK Filk Mailing List. If anyone knows of an on-line source for that,
I'll post the link with the other con reports. Thanks.
P.S. Thanks Seanan,
Talis' Tour report is now up on her website; we've added the link to
it from Paul's report.
11/13/00
Well, a new experiment in extreme silliness. I've implemented an on-line
jigsaw puzzle based on the puzzle pieces used in the Assembly Required
album. You can now provide the assembly, if you want to spend the time.
I've been warned that this technology requires browsers of 4.0 and better,
and it uses overlapping layers, so it'll probably work best if you don't
try lots of normally intellegent things like resizing the window, etc.
Normally I hate it when a web thing has all sorts of restrictions and
warnings that it may not work placed on it, but in this case, it's a
silly enough use of technology that I figure what the heck, you should
be doing something more productive anyway. Good luck. :)
11/10/00
New Puzzlings.
Picked up developed OVFF photos today; got some good ones amid a lot
of mediocre ones. Sigh. It does seem to require taking a lot of photos
just to garner a few gems. Steichen or Steiglitz I ain't... Will be
putting the decent ones online soon...
11/6/00
Paul has written up his OVFF con report,
for those interested. Pictures from the con are coming soon.
11/2/00
New Paul's Puzzlings; also have
added a few newer Puzzlepals to the list,
for anyone who's interested. And if anyone isn't included who wants
to be, please let us know
so we can add you!
11/1/00
Put up a new page of photos in the Photos
section. More to come soon from OVFF 2000!
!0/10/00
New Paul's
Puzzlings. Congrats to Joey
Shoji on his fun and successful guest gig at FilkContinental!
10/2/00
Puzzlebox has been asked to be the Guests of Honor at FilkContinental!
Find out details in Concerts and Conventions.
We're sooo excited!!!!!
9/29/00
Updated and fixed links to old Puzzlebits messages, not that anybody
but Paul will care, but if it makes him happy...
Also Paul posted another Puzzlings, though I'll mention that if it turns
out that he updates it often I won't keep mentioning it here, as it'd
probably get really annoying...
9/25/00
Paul
has updated his Puzzlings, as well as
written a con report for Conchord
2000, which was this past weekend in Van Nuys, CA.
9/21/00
Paul has written his first Puzzlings,
a rather bittersweet thing as we just attended a memorial service for
a good artist friend of mine.
Put in two new
Puzzlepals, Seanan McGuire (that's "Shawnan"
to any neophytes), a good friend and talented singer, and TestingTesting,
the cool online radio style show with varied guest musicians that airs
on the net on Monday nights. Puzzlebox played with their house band
a few months back, and you can listen to the entire archived show on
RealAudio on the
TestingTesting
web site. Check it out!
Have been wrestling
with the Puzzlebits pages, and any
posting there would be appreciated to help me make sure it's in good
working order now... It's hell being just an artist when I really need
to be a techno nerd grrrl as well!
9/14/00
Putting the new web site pages up on the real site this week (finally!)
Please bear with us...
7/5/00
We've revamped almost all of the areas of the old site, and added new ones.
We're adding new photos, new bio
write-ups to reflect our changing lives, and there's a new section for the
album, as well as short bios of our talented guest musicians.
6/8/2000
The biggest development
for the web site is that Beckett Gladney has taken over the site design and
maintenance. Please bear with me folks, as I'm just learning all this web
page stuff. Let me know if you
find problems, or have comments about the changes, ok?
